How Big Is the GTA 6 Map? Leonida Size Compared
Estimates put Leonida at roughly 1.5x to 2x the size of GTA V. Here's what the trailers and leaks suggest about scale — and why fast travel matters.
Rockstar hasn’t given an official square-mileage, but everything we’ve seen points to a substantial jump in scale over GTA V.
The estimate
The map spans at least five counties and several cities. Fan mapping projects — using trailer coordinates and the 2022 development footage — estimate Leonida is around 1.5x to 2x the size of Los Santos and Blaine County combined.
Why it feels even bigger
It’s not just area. Six varied regions — dense city, archipelago, swampland, ports, inland cities and a national park — mean more distinct biomes to explore than any previous GTA. Density, not just size, is the headline.
Getting around
With a map this large and this varied, traversal matters. Expect the full vehicle spread — cars, bikes, boats, planes and helicopters — to be essential rather than optional.
